ProtoATL Report
This past weekend I attended the game development gathering ProtoATL. It was great seeing some of the friends I made at this event last year and meeting some great new people. I had the opportunity to both play test some great new games as well as do some play testing of my own games.
The play testing for Geaux Parade went very well. My focus for this event was tweaking the rules of the game to help the game run smoothly and to try and better balance the luck vs strategy aspects of the game. In addition I did the first ever play testing of Pothole! This will be the next game from Gentilly Games.
The first test of Pothole! was a disaster and I was thinking that I might have to rethink the entire concept of the game. As I replayed the play test in my head over dinner I thought that just maybe a couple of minor adjustments to the game might make it work. The next day I was able to test out these changes and they worked even better than expected.
This weekend I will be at the Southern Board Game Festival in Lafayette Louisiana. I will be in the GeauxPub area at the festival and will be play testing both Geaux Parade and Pothole! Get your badge for the Festival and sign up to join me for one or both games.
